The Gates housing for the Panasonic DX100 DV camera has
come out! This Panasonic Digital Video Camera is the smallest yet to feature 3CCD pick-up
chips. The CCD is the little chip which "sees" the picture from the lens and
translates it into a Digital Video picture. With 3CCD there are three chips picking up the
picture instead of just one, and that means a clearer, better picture with much better
colour and detail resolution.
Gates Underwater Products have now designed a housing for the Panasonic
DX100 DV camera (sometimes called NVDJ100, DV2000 or AG-EZ30).
Once you hold this housing in your hand you will not want to let go. Weighing less than 4
kg and being not much bigger than the camera it is built for, it can be packed in a
suitcase, a backpack or even a handbag when you travel. Gates have made no compromises on
quality - you will see this already from the outside: Stainless steel security latches,
precision engineered knobs and buttons, and a beautiful dome port for those really
breathtaking wide angle shots.
The housing opens in two halves and the camera is attached to a shoe in the front end. An
internal colour correction filter fits perfectly between the camera and the wide angle or
dome port.
The manual controls gives you a perfect feel for your camera and enables you to operate
features like manual focus (a must for divers), white balance, shutter speed and iris,
still photo capture, plus standard controls like start/stop, on/off, auto/manual lock
control and manual focus on/off.
This housing is now on the market and is selling fast. If you are interested let us
know, and we will send you a brochure.
