Video Production

What do you want to say ?

Who is your target audience ?

What would be the best way to get your message across ?

These are the crucial questions which always need to be answered before a video production begins.
A concept must be developed.
An idea must be shaped into pictures and sound.

This requires experience, creative talent, and vision of the producers. And these are the qualities we bring to you with the people at Tradewind Communications.

We believe in teamwork, and we like to see our client as part of our team. We offer you total dedication, years of broadcast television experience, and we are friendly people who know that only by satisfying your needs will we have any chance of seeing you again for another project.

How to make a video ?

1. You provide us with an idea about what you want in the video.
The more precise your idea, the easier and faster for us to work with it.

2. We produce a brief draft outline which is discussed with you and approved

3. On the basis of the outline we write a  shooting script which is again discussed with you, and approved once necessary changes have been made.
A detailed shooting script will allow us to work much more efficiently and save time and therefore cost for you.

4. We shoot the video on location and/or in the studio.
How closely we can follow the shooting script depends on the nature of the video. There is a big difference between shooting a product promotion and a more documentary style production. Live action and interviews, for example, cannot be scripted. In real life some things just don't work out as planned and the director of the production will use his or her experience to get the shots needed for completion of the production.
Often good creative ideas come to the crew while shooting, and therefore the actual footage after the shoot is often different from that in the shooting script.

5. We write an editing script, based on the shooting script, but including new ideas and with an exact word to word narration.
This script must be approved by you before post-production can commence.

6. Post production: We produce a first version of the production which we show to you. Mistakes can be corrected and you get an idea about the "flow" of the video.
This is not the time for a complete rethink of the storyline or a general change of direction of the script. Such changes can cause expensive delays and extra work for all parties, and the consultation process during preproduction ensures that all parties agree to the script even before the video is shot.

7. A final version is completed and approved by you. If there are any mistakes on our part we will of course correct them.

8. We can design a cover sheet, arrange for duplication, packaging, labelling and distribution etc if this is needed.
