Handles and hinges are solid and there are no metal parts which can corrode or rust.
The purge valve (needed to let air out of the case when flying) is large solid and features a brass screw which cannot rust. It is protected so it cannot be knocked off
O-rings are replacable as is the internal pick-and-pluck foam which can be customised to any equipment.
Pelican cases are airtight and waterproof to 10 m depth
