Hans la Cour, Director of Photography

Tradewind Communications regularly supply broadcasters from outside New Zealand with crews and equipment for shooting in New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Hans 2 small.JPG (57144 bytes) Hans is a man with many hats. One day he is exploring a wreck on the bottom of the sea. The next he may be chasing sheep (yes, he is very fit!), shooting for an American animal show. Then there is a meticulous lighting setup for documentary. Or maybe he is stuck on an uninhabited coral island with only turtles and a great crew for company.

With almost 20 years in the television industry Hans is one of the most experienced and versatile guys around. He has a great understanding of the story, and knows what will work on telly. He will work tirelessly to ensure the success of the shoot. No wonder he is often difficult to pin down!

For Hans life is about adventure and challenges, and in television the challenge is to find that extra shot; that new angle, which makes the difference.

Hans speaks Spanish, German, French, Danish, Swedish and Portuguese.

He has worked all over New Zealand and the Pacific, as well as in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
